The Story
This is the story of a man who is happy when he is making.
When I was 16, without any prior knowledge I made a pair of pants that I wore to a party, the crotch ripped. That was the end of my fashion ambitions, but it did not deter me from the artisanal milieu, and so the story continues.
After several years as a shoe designer/maker, I took the opportunity to research & work in textile-based social enterprises in Vietnam, Nepal, China and India. This reinforced the social and environmental care that has always underpinned my ethos as an artisan – slow, functional luxury, made by hand.
